Recent ActivityThe Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) program at Wildwood Elementary School provides identified students with differentiated instruction in the classroom, after-school enrichment opportunities as feasible, and other activities (field trips, school activities, etc.) as much as fiscally possible in order to extend their learning.

Please be assured that all teachers have received extensive training in differentiated instruction and will continue to provide an outstanding and differentiated education for your GATE student with the Principal's full support. Wildwood Elementary School will continue to write to State legislators in order to voice our opinion about bringing forth a balanced budget that serves all of the public school children in the State of California. YCJUSD DGAC DatesIn better fiscal times, the District GATE Advisory Council (DGAC) is organized by the Assistant Superintendent, Educational Services. Please contact Dr. Victoria Schumacher at 909- 797-0174 Ext. 131 or visit the District GATE web site for more information about this suspended categorical program or with other GATE program questions.
HOWEVER, Please note that there will not be any formal District GATE (DGAC) meetings this year due to the State of California fiscal crisis and the choice of our legislators and the Governor to essentially eliminate funding for GATE. Please continue to write to your legislators about your concerns in public education and the lack of funds for schools which affect how public schools can conduct business for students. Our school is committed to working to provide a GATE program for students, even in tough financial times. Teachers are still differentiating instruction for GATE students and our school staff is still actively pursuing outside funding for field trips and clubs such as Destination Imagination. |
